New Life Preparatory Academy (NLPA) is a private Christian high school and adult education institution serving students in grades 9–12 and learners 18 years and older.
Founded in 2000 in Pompano Beach, Florida, NLPA is committed to providing a Christ-centered, academically rigorous, and life-shaping education that equips students to reach their full potential as Ambassadors of Christ.
We serve a diverse student body and offer flexible learning options for both traditional and adult learners in a safe, nurturing environment that promotes academic excellence, spiritual growth, and leadership.

Our mission is to prepare students for success in college, career, and life by combining biblical principles with high academic standards. We believe in producing graduates who are spiritually grounded, academically prepared, and ready to impact the world for Jesus Christ.
Curriculum
We partner with Florida Virtual School (FLVS) and Alpha Omega Publications’ LIFEPAC Christian Curriculum to provide a balanced academic program that is both flexible and faith-based.
- Florida Virtual School (FLVS) – Fully accredited by Cognia and SACS CASI, offering NCAA-approved core courses for eligible students, aligned with Florida Standards.
- LIFEPAC – A self-paced, mastery-based Christian curriculum that integrates biblical principles into all core and elective subjects.
Our program offers:
- Core academic courses meeting Florida Standards
- A wide selection of electives and career pathways
- A mandatory Old and New Testament Survey for spiritual foundation
- Online, hybrid, and classroom learning formats
Scholarships Available for Eligible Students
NLPA participates in Florida’s leading state scholarship programs for private school students, including:
- Florida Tax Credit Scholarship (FTC)
- Family Empowerment Scholarship for Educational Options (FES-EO)
- Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities (FES-UA) – formerly Gardiner/McKay
- Hope Scholarship – For students affected by bullying, assault, or harassment (average awards around $7,000)
- Opportunity Scholarship – Available under Florida’s K–12 scholarship programs
These scholarships help make private Christian education accessible to more families.
Grading & Graduation Requirements
- Grading Scale:
A = 94–100% (4.0)
B = 85–93% (3.0)
C = 75–84% (2.0)
D = 65–74% (1.0)
F = 64% or below (0.0)
- Graduation Requirements:
- Minimum of 24 credits beginning in 9th grade
- 200 hours of community service
- Successful completion of all core and elective requirements
AP and Honors courses are weighted by one point. GPA is computed in January and May.


Credibility & Recognition
While NLPA is not currently accredited, we are a credible Christian institution recognized by the Florida State Department of Education. We are actively pursuing reputable accreditation to further enhance the value of our programs.
Many of our graduates have gone on to attend universities, build successful careers, and serve in ministry — a testament to the quality and impact of an NLPA education.
