Athletics – New Life Preparatory Academy
Our Vision for Athletics
At New Life Preparatory Academy (NLPA), athletics is more than competition — it’s an extension of our mission to develop godly character, discipline, leadership, and excellence in every student-athlete.
We envision building a premier Christian athletic program that not only develops winning teams, but also prepares student-athletes for college scholarships, leadership opportunities, and life beyond sports.
Our immediate focus is the return of our basketball program in the 2026–2027 school year, followed by the launch of our football program in the near future.
Basketball – First to Return
Basketball will be the first sport reinstated at NLPA, beginning with the 2026–2027 season. Our goal is to:
- Recruit and develop talented student-athletes from our student body and the community
- Compete at a high level in independent high school athletics
- Provide exposure to college recruiters and scholarship opportunities
- Build a winning tradition rooted in sportsmanship and Christian values
Football – Coming Soon
Following the return of basketball, our football program is part of our next phase of athletic development. We are laying the foundation for:
- A competitive and disciplined team environment
- Skilled coaching staff committed to athletic and spiritual growth
- A strong feeder program to develop players at every level
Independent Sports Program
The Mighty Camels athletic program serves students from NLPA, homeschool networks, and other private or charter schools that may not offer sports.Â
We operate as an Independent High School Sports Program and have previously applied for membership in the Sunshine State Athletic Association (SSAA). Our mission is to compete at a championship level while representing Christ in every aspect of competition.
Athletic Leadership
Athletic Visionary:
Dr. Alex L. Jenkins, Sr. – Inaugural coach and athletic director, driven by a vision to build competitive basketball and football programs that provide student-athletes with the skills, exposure, and confidence to compete at the next level.
While NLPA currently has no dedicated basketball court or home football field, this is a faith-driven vision in progress. Our commitment is to create opportunities for our students to train, compete, and gain access to college-level athletic pathways, starting with basketball in the 2026–2027 season and football in the near future.
